Eric Petersen first picked up a camera at age seven in Rochester, NY. As a teenager, the focus of his photos was usually friends and skateboarding. This hobby lead to photographing skating and BMX contests as well as videography for Rochester based KINK BMX.
Currently living in Washington, DC, Eric shoots a wide range of subjects using traditional film, digital, medium format, polariod and toy cameras. This site was created to reflect his interests, experience, travels and perspective on daily life in the District. The images presented are updated regularly.
His images have been used in: Musee de l'Elysee's exhibit ‘We are all photographers now!’, The New Yorker Magazine, The Washington Post Magazine, The Rochester Insider Weekly published by the Democrat and Chronicle, Cheneliére Education Geography Textbook entitled Enjeux et territoires.
